I was leading the planning and development of the official smartphone apps of Hungarian National Lottery.
Even if Hungary is a smaller market, dealing with all the technical challenges (payment integration, security) and managing the many stakeholders made this project especially challenging.
We've put a lot of thought and consideration into the UX. The National Lottery has half a dozen different games, and they often played by users who are not tech-savvy. One of our priorities was recreating the traditional, paper-based playing experience.
We managed to develop native iOS and Android apps in 12 weeks. Number of lottery tickets played on mobile saw four-digit growth in the first 3 months compared to the company's previous, SMS-based offering, and the app catapulted to the top of the app stores on both platforms.
